SUNDAY PORTRAIT WEEK 004

001. Another week of being extremely busy! I will post photos of my work soon, but i'd rather show you when it's finished. My project is coming along, i'm feeling a lot more confident about it this week. I have decided to make a leather bustier with nails sticking through and a metal cage to go over the top, maybe even a pleated leather skirt if i have time also. I made the metal cage this week in sculpture, it wasn't as hard as i expected (plus i had Dylan there to help). I'm really pleased with how it turned out but i now have quite a bit of filing to do, i can't imagine wearing a sort of metal back brace would be too comfortable!

002. I have also been screen printing this week, i didn't at any point want to have print on my design but i thought the fact i'd tried it would look good with my work. I hadn't done screen printing for over a year and when i did i hated it, i didn't get any help at all. I tried to catch up with work but as i was ill for a couple of lessons i felt like i was too behind and the print lady is scary, and i mean really scary! Gutted when she remembered me, i ended up quitting her lesson and by the looks of things she was still not happy about it.

003. I think it i went to print again i would find it a lot easier, i'd really like to print some t-shirts when i've finished my FMP. I have a few designs i'd like to do so i hope i have the to time to do it! If not, fabric transfers it is...

004. I've finally decided what university i want to go to.  I chose Leeds College of Art, i'm not sure if it's the right decision, but i guess i'll never know what's best for me. It's in a better location, i have friends there, the shops are more to my taste and it's closer to home (and my kittens).  Now all i've got to do is get the grades! Ah!

SUNDAY PORTRAIT WEEK 003

001. This week has been super busy! My deadline for my FMP is in 16 days, ahhh! I don't know why i barely have any work to show for it, i've done way too much research, again, about 40 pages i think. I've been doing my designs wherever i can, and have not been out for this entire project. I thought i'd have way more to show for it though. I'm such a perfectionist.

002. As you can tell i'm at Dylans, (Levi top). My parents are still on holiday in Benidorm, but honestly nothing exciting has happened recently. all i seem to do is work on this project and Dylan finishes uni soon so he's super busy also. I can't wait to be finished and go back to having days out charity shopping and trips to the cinema, and drunkness!

003. Apologies for the last of posts, there won't be many until my deadline. If i don't get the grades i can't go to university and won't be designing your clothes in the future!

ANIMAL MAGIC

Dress: Topshop
Belt: Topshop
Bag: Topshop
Shoes: Topshop
Heels: Topshop
Rings: Topshop, Wildfox

I don't know why i even bother looking on other websites for clothes, apart from one ring my entire post is from Topshop. I love this dress, it looks perfect for summer, coming from someone who generally dislikes the season. I couldn't really decide which shoes to put with this outfit, I'm in actual love with the Lisbon Wood Heel Sandals, they are so pretty! A bit of the expensive side though, considering the amount of heels i currently own (and the fact i'm extremely clumsy and would probably break them soon enough). I thought the flats would go great for a daytime look, more festival-ly, which reminds me i have to buy my Kendal Calling ticket tonight! I wasn't going to put a bag with this outfit, i rarely buy bags from anywhere other than charity shops to be honest. But Seeing this wicker bag has changed my mind. I'd love to find a vintage one somewhere, but if all else fails.

SUNDAY PORTRAIT WEEK 002

001. Another week has gone by so quickly and again, i don't know what i've done. I'm been trying to do work for my FMP but it just seems to be taking forever to do, i still don't feel any closer from the first week of brief! I really don't think i'm going to pass this project, any therefore won't be able to go to university. My life sucks.

002. One thing i do remember doing is over spending. I bought the green dress from my previous post, as well as the purse. I tried the dress on today, it's lovely. I just don't know where i would where it! So that's £40 gone, there is no way i would have spent as much for no occasion if i hadn't had 20% with Unidays. I'm such a stinge. I also purchased the Maverick Cut-out boots from this post for around £35 (i think) but they were on sale, so i kinda had to. New (vintage) wellies for Kendal Calling and about £30 worth of PVC for my fetish/torture garment. Bare in mind i don't have a job.

003. My parents are on holiday so i'm having to live with my boyfriend for 5 days, they don't trust me alone in the house y'see. Notice the messy wardrobe and Madness t-shirt. I feel for my sister, she's living at my grandmas with no internet, or Tv. Ha! I'm definitely not going to miss the 3 hours i spent of the train everyday, but i miss my kitties. I expect more than i "I Heart Benidorm" t-shirt like i go last year though!

004. I haven't really got a lot to say about this past week. I do need to publish some of my old posts though, i'll get round to it eventually! Also, church bells have been going off for almost an hour, i'm tempted to jump out of the top floor window!

NEON SNAKESKIN

Dress: Topshop
Leather Jacket: Topshop
Boots: The Quiet Riot
Purse: Topshop
Ring: ASOS
Belt: Topshop

I'm in shock that there's so many things in Topshop that i am in love with. I've never liked Neon (it has reminded me of a chavvy rave for under 18's) but i really need this dress. I already have a leather jacket that looks exactly like this one but i would quite like to add another to my wardrobe. But at £165, i think i'll have to look on ebay. I have wanted these boots for so long now, i'm not really a boot kind of gal, i tend to think they made my feet look big, but insecurity goes out of the window when theres a sale! I was so close to buying the purse when i was in Leeds.

I'm off to london in a few weeks, Dylan is off to some festival called New Blood so we are staying at his friends house for 5 days. We went last year for Wireless Festival and it was so fun, i love London. I'm hoping to stuff in as much museums and tourist activities as possible. The Topshop is amazing, last year i was in there for literally 3 hours! I will have everything on this post by then!

I WISH I COULD REMEMBER WHERE THOSE SHOES ARE FROM...

Well, i was going to do an outfit post today. But i seem to have kicked my camera off the table and smashed the screen. I really need to get to Comet to get it fixed, but i can't drive, don't have the paperwork and would really not like to ask my parents for any of the above. It's my third camera in a year, so i'm debating whether i should just buy a new one for about £87 rather than suffer the wrath of my mum and dad.

Anyway, to the point, i've just gotten a Pinterest account and i am actually obsessed. For those of you who don't know what Pinterest is, it's a virtual inboard where you can post and share all the lovely things you find on the internet keeping them organised in different categories! You can download the "Pin it" button to go on your bookmarks bar so, if you're like me and find an amazing pair of brown suede loafers with a leopard vamp toe, and you can't for the love of you remember where you saw them! You won't have that problem. It is an invite only website but if you send a request they should get back to you in a few days.

If i have convinced you, follow me!

SUNDAY PORTRAIT WEEK 001

001. I apologise for not posting much this week, i want to say that i've been super busy, but honestly, i don't really know what i've been busy with. I've been doing some research for my Final Major Project this week, not as much as i should've done. (I should be doing it now really, oops!) I haven't mentioned my FMP on my blog yet, but i am creating a garment in the theme of the most prolific female serial killer in history Countess Elizabeth BĆ”thory and her torture methods. Yes, i realise it sounds dark and a bit 'gothy' but i was thinking i'd create more of a Lady Gaga style couture piece inspired by fetish and bondage wear. It will be a challenge, i usually create the more 'nicer' style garments but i think this could be interesting.

002. Another thing i've been doing this week is redesigning my blog. I've wanted a new look for a while but i was quite attached to the one i had. I am pleased with how it looks now though, but i definitely need to post more. I've seen "week in photos" and "sunday portraits" on a few blogs, and i think it would be a good idea to motivate me to post more. I'm so lazy. But i did learn some more about photoshop, Dylan will be pleased!

003. I had a tour at Leeds College of Art this week, i just can't seem to make up my mind between there and Coventry. I applied to do a fashion course but it's just really stressing me out at the moment. Leeds is a beautiful place and the college looked alright but the facilities at Coventry were amazing, the course sounds really good too! So i'm in a bit of a pickle. I've spoken to people on the Leeds course and they aren't very keen but Leeds is higher on the leader boards. You see my struggle. So i went for a tour around to see Leeds again to help with my decision but it really just made it worse. I got some time to shop though which is always a good thing (apart from the torrential rain though!), i bought this Skeleton top i fell in love with once seeing it on LLYMLRS it's so purdy, swell as few other random articles of clothing. Best of all, i didn't pay for any of it, mother was there to save the day.

004. Yesterday was Sarah's 19th party celebration, and the theme, LMFAO! So obviously we were all wearing animal print leggings, printed tops, brightly coloured glasses and trainers. I ordered all my things off Ebay really early on Monday morning with a guaranteed delivery to get here by the Thursday. My top came, but it wasn't the one i ordered and my leggings have still yet to arrive. I did have a lovely meal at Zest with Chelsea and Matthew, I've wanted to go there for so long. Wok Chicken is amazing. I basically had to buy my entire outfit yesterday in town, after having a bit of fun picking each other outfits in charity shops and choosing Sarah the most hideous presents in Poundland (A DVD called "Those Bedroom Eyes" - the tale of a killer prostitute, Charlies Angels CD and an "I love you" balloon!) Anyways, getting away from the point, Sarah's was good, I'm just shocked of how many people in town were dressed as LMFAO (not including us), they so copied! I shall post Photos soon!

005. Also, 30 Day Shred starts tomorrow!

TOMATO DIPINETTI IS THE MOST AMAZING THING EVER.

Yay! My Graze box came this morning, it felt like christmas. I can't even express how much i love getting parcels. I really only got a box because it was a free try but after getting it i think i'm going to continue. I got "Beach Bum" which was really yukky (so i'll have to remember to rate that one before next week), "Lemon Meringue" which was really good, "Tomato Dipinetti" definitely my favourite! It tastes amazing. And "Apple & Cinnamon Flapjack", i haven't eaten that yet, i'm going to save it for a cup of tea and Sex and The City. There's a code for anyone who would like to use it to receive a free box above, i recommend you try it!

I LOVE DELIVERIES.

Completely un-college related, but i want my blog to be more than just work. I want it to be more of a diary where i can share my thoughts and recent overall "goings-on". Well, today all i've done is basically 'blog-hopping' through cute little blogs and gaining creative inspiration (and for fashion of course). I've noticed a lot of blogs i have read have been taking about how good Graze boxes are, i've almost signed up a few times but i've always seemed to just slap my own wrist and tell myself to stop being so greedy! Money should be for jewellery, not food! After reading a post by Red Brick Lipstick i've finally decided to order one (and because i've got a free code)! I'm excited!

PEN LIDS AND FAKE EYELASHES.

For my current project, 3D Textiles i will be creating a sculptural fashion piece. I have a hell of a lot of work to do as I'm off to Disney in...11 days (: Yay! After spending virtually half a day researching designers i feel incredibly inspired. The project is to create a piece using recycled materials, so instead of using fabrics i thought it would be a good opportunity to experiment freely with paper, magazines, vinyl disks, cassette ribbon, bottle caps and other things i come across.

Margiela is known for his upside-down take on fashion, deconstructed jackets, exposed seams and hems, and oversize proportions. A true innovator, he’s known to redesign old objects such as canvases, silk scarves, and wigs and turn them into couture garments. The idea of cutting up clothes goes back to the ripped t-shirts of the Punks and the subsequent street style of slicing jeans with razor blades. But the new deconstruction goes much further. Margiela has unravelled old army socks and made them into sweaters, transformed tulle ball gowns into jackets, recut secondhand black leather coats in the form of dresses, even made plastic laundry bags into clothes.

The essence of Van Herpen is expressing the character and emotions of the unique woman and to extend the shape of the feminine body in detail. BLACKMILK?

Black milk clothing is a fashion label exclusively retailing online, which i find shocking as i haven't heard of it until now. Their clothes are amazing. As cringey as this may seem i found the "About" of Black Milk truly inspiring and just shows if you believe enough in yourself and actually do something about it you can achieve great things. My favourite of their products at the moment is the Cathedral Skirt, it's beautiful and so different but it's a little out of my price range especially as i wouldn't be able to wear it too much as it's so 'memorable'. Maybe one day...

001. Cathedral Skirt $70.00
002. Suspender Black Leggings $125.00
003. Ribs Black Swimsuit $90.00
004. Peacock Skirt $70.00

EDEN MILE PHOTOGRAPHY.

This was the most boring project known to man. Brief, basically to create artwork on the theme of the Eden River. Personally i'm not into sitting outside in the freezing cold trying to draw a river with charcoal. I'm not pleased with my final piece, and i should never ever ever leave a project to the last minute. Having 15 minutes to paint a canvas sucks.
